So much said here in relatively few words. As a formerly very angry person I have to say this rings true for me: anger as an alert that boundaries were being violated, I was being lied to or abused. Yet at the same time trying to deny my anger to avoid losing whatever weak and toxic connections I had. This was me until I let go of the mistreatment and those ever willing to dish it out. I learned to love myself and honor my feelings. Old anger from old wounds still creeps up–sometimes it appears like a trauma-response beyond my control. This explosive anger is getting better as I continue to heal, forgive and realize those who abused me were also very angry and violated and had no help.
I’m grateful for the help I’ve had and for the opportunity to heal.
